Welcome to Dampcoursing.com
Specialists in all types of dampproofing with over 50 years experience and unbeatable guarantees.
We offer both the chemical dampproofing and physical damp proofing systems, at Dampcoursing we have always firmly believed that the physical dampproofing system far out-performs the chemical equivalent.
What causes rising damp?
Brickwork contains many microscopic holes and tunnels. Water from the surrounding ground is sucked up through the bricks by capillary action. It normally reaches a level of about 1.2m and then is stopped by the force of gravity. Signs of rising damp include tell-tale white “tidemarks” of salt deposits high up the wall, bubbling plaster at the base of walls and mould. It’s a serious problem that will eventually damage your property.
Physical dampproofing involves inserting a physical membrane into the course of the brickwork. Most new properties are now built with physical damp courses, but we specialise in retrofitting physical damp courses into older properties.

Chemical dampproofing involves injecting a chemical solution into the brickwork, which fills the internal spaces in the brickwork preventing the damp from rising due to capillary action. Where possible we recommend physical dampproofing.
