Specialist cutting equipment is used to create a slot ready for the DPC, with the thickness of the cutting blade being the precise measurement required for the insertion of the DPC along with the necessary bedding mortar. The DPC itself is cut to meet the varying wall thicknesses of each individual project.

This operation is done in 1m stages, with repointing work carried out at the end of the project.

When the job is finished, the remedial work is barely noticeable – yet the threat of rising damp is totally eliminated.

While it offers chemical damp proofing methods to counteract the adverse effects of rising damp, Dampcoursing believes that the physical insertion DPC is a far more effective option.
